Fred Winter Handicap Hurdle Looking Like An Open Race

The Fred Winter Handicap Hurdle has become a big race on the Cheltenham Festival card and will be one of the main supporting races to the Champion Chase on Wednesday. It is specifically designed to give the four-year old novice hurdlers a chance to run at the Festival and can often lead to bigger and betting things. Crack Away Jack is just one of the horses to have won this race before moving on to have a good career at a top level. The 2010 Fred Winter is offering great value across the board with no one contender standing out from the crowd at this stage, these young hurdlers should be improving with every run meaning several runners have good chances.

David Pipe looks to have a strong hand in the Fred Winter Handicap Hurdle this year with two real contenders in with a strong chance according to the latest betting. The first of these is Notus De La Tour who looks an excellent prospect after coming over from France. He won his first and only race so far on British soil at Plumpton in January and on that evidence should improve for the run and has to have an outstanding chance in this one. The second of the Pipe hoses who are well backed in the Fred Winter Handicap Hurdle Odds is Hunterview who has been coming in for steady support over the last few days. He won well last time out at Warwick at the end of January and looks an improving type who should go well at Cheltenham if he takes his best form into the race.

As with most races at the Cheltenham Festival Paul Nicholls has a well fancied candidate for the win and in Sanctuaire he looks to have a real chance of scoring. He has just had the three runs in his career so far with his first on British soil yielding a win at Taunton back in February when he looked in fine form with Ruby Walsh on board. Since then he has come in for some good backing for the Fred Winter and should improve once again meaning he has every chance of claiming the win. Another contender with good chances is Capellanus who is yet another with great chances in this very open betting heat after a good season. He has had two good runs at Gowran Park this year with a win coming last time out when he performed well and he should once again improve for the run at Cheltenham meaning he is not without a chance. There are a number of real chances in the betting for the Fred Winter at the Festival and as such means there is some excellent value on offer for the shrewd racing punter.
